Big Bow Float: A Centennial Canoe Voyage

In 2005, we embarked on the The Big Bow Float: A Centennial Canoe Voyage, a four-week 657-kilometer continuous canoe trip spanning the entire length of the Bow River. A key part of the Big Bow Float was a public outreach and education campaign that occurred prior to, during, and after the trip. From 2004 to 2006, Bow Riverkeeper's outreach and media efforts have raised awareness in residents throughout the Bow River basin. Our messages have been picked up by local, regional, and national newspapers.

Our Big Bow Float Movie draws attention to the issue of water scarcity. It has been viewed by several thousand people in the Bow River Basin and across Alberta. Contact us to buy a copy of the DVD, or to arrange for a presentation and movie showing in your community.
