How can we rejuvenate Alberta's Water for Life Strategy?
Bow Riverkeeper is deeply engaged in Alberta's Water for Life Strategy. The Strategy, adopted in 2004, seeks to develop new water management approaches for addressing the province's water issues. As a member of the Alberta Water Council as well as an active member of the Bow River Basin Council (the appointed watershed council under the strategy), we track and ensure the success of the strategy. Our aim is to advocate for the protection of watersheds for all Albertans. The Strategy Under ReviewCurrently, the strategy is undergoing a review by the Alberta Water Council with input from the public. In early 2007, Premier Ed Stelmach asked Environment Minister Rob Renner to undergo a "renewal and resourcing" of the Water for Life Strategy.
